Kathmandu: A 21-member delegation from the International Project Development Forum (IPDF) has successfully participated in an international programme in China held from October 25 to 28, 2026. The delegation took part in discussions and activities focusing on agricultural mechanization, modern technology, trade, infrastructure development and international cooperation.

The programme, titled “China and Foreign Country Agricultural Machinery Trade Conference,” brought together representatives from more than 40 countries. The conference provided an international platform for discussions on modern agricultural technologies, mechanization, cross-border trade and opportunities for cooperation among participating countries. Organizations including the United Nations Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) were also associated with the programme.

Speaking about the visit, IPDF President Mukunda Dhungana said China’s remarkable progress in development, technology and infrastructure offers valuable lessons for Nepal.

“China’s achievements in infrastructure, industry, technology, transportation and economic development are impressive. Observing the planned development of cities such as Beijing, Tianjin and Kunming provided us with valuable insights into the importance of long-term planning and effective implementation. Such international visits create opportunities to identify new projects, attract investment, explore modern technologies and strengthen professional cooperation,” Dhungana said.

Alongside the formal conference, the IPDF delegation visited various cities and observed China’s urban development, modern infrastructure, tourism, trade and cultural heritage.

In Beijing, the delegation observed modern urban infrastructure, historical landmarks and cultural heritage. In Tianjin, the team explored industrial development, commercial activities and modern infrastructure. The visit to Kunming offered insights into urban development, tourism potential and the city’s natural beauty.

The delegation also visited various tourist destinations and recreational sites, gaining first-hand exposure to China’s economic, social, cultural and tourism development.

According to President Dhungana, IPDF aims to utilize the knowledge, experience and international contacts gained during the visit to promote project development, investment, tourism, agriculture and technology in Nepal. He emphasized the importance of building partnerships with international organizations, business communities, investors and development institutions to identify and advance potential projects in Nepal.

The participation of IPDF’s 21-member delegation in the international programme is expected to contribute to strengthening cooperation between Nepal and China in areas including development, trade, tourism, agricultural technology and investment.

The visit also reflects IPDF’s commitment to expanding its international network and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, partnership and sustainable project development.
