{"id":64898,"date":"2016-11-20T05:31:51","date_gmt":"2016-11-19T23:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rastriyakhabar.com\/?p=64898"},"modified":"2016-11-20T05:31:51","modified_gmt":"2016-11-19T23:46:51","slug":"kathmandu-view-tower-kmc-to-scrap-contract-with-jaleshwor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rastriyakhabar.com\/?p=64898","title":{"rendered":"Kathmandu view tower: KMC to scrap contract with Jaleshwor"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64899\" src=\"http:\/\/rastriyakhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tower.jpg\" alt=\"tower\" width=\"850\" height=\"549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rastriyakhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tower.jpg 850w, https:\/\/www.rastriyakhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tower-300x194.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rastriyakhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/tower-768x496.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to terminate the contract with Jaleshwor Swachhanda Bkoi Builders Pvt Ltd for the construction of Kathmandu View Tower at Old Bus Park.<\/p>\n<p>The firm had agreed to build the 12-storey tower a year ago but failed to start the construction, the KMC spokesperson, Gyanendra Karki, said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are in the process of terminating the contract,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The KMC has vacated the Old Bus Park as well as removed over five dozen businesses in the area to make way for the construction of view tower.<\/p>\n<p>Six months on, the place, which is spread over 23 ropanis of land, has become a playground for stray dogs and parking space for private vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the builders had told KMC that the construction work could not start due to shortage of materials owing to months long blockade along the Nepal-India border.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the construction did not start even after the blockade was lifted,\u201d Karki said. The builders could not be reached for a comment.<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun had laid the foundation stone for the tower last year.<\/p>\n<p>As per the agreement, the tower was supposed to be completed by 2019 with an estimated cost of Rs 7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Karki said the KMC will hire a different company for the job.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to terminate the contract with Jaleshwor Swachhanda Bkoi Builders Pvt Ltd for the construction of Kathmandu View Tower at Old Bus Park.
